Hyperion

Season 2 & 3 Creative

Hyperion is a collaborative, welcoming theatre that constantly strives for artistic excellence; they deliver authentic stories that engage, inspire, challenge, and delight; and raise up their community through the power of the performing arts.

I worked closely with its founders to produce:

  • 6 Shows in 2 Seasons: The Glass Menagerie, Call Me Sister, Waiting for Godot, Doubt: A Parable, Grand Horizons, and I Love My Zombie
  • Custom character composites for each show for use in posters, social media, emails, and ads
  • Captured cast and crew head shots
  • Live performance photography
  • Promotional Videos for each season
  • Promotional Videos for each show
  • Select interview series

Cast Interviews –

Waiting for Godot

Videos were captured to be easily edited in both wide and vertical formats. Final distribution was Youtube, Instagram, and Tiktok. Art direction was determined ahead of time with each show’s director, using mood boards and shared notes to align creative vision.

Custom video backgrounds matched the art direction for each show and assets were created to be applied across both graphic and video media formats.

ABOUT

I’m husband to my lovely wife, Joie, and proud father to our 6 kiddos living here in the midwest. I grew up with free reign of my family’s home video camera, shooting funny movies and animating shorts and stop motion videos with my sisters and friends. I got a few photography certifications right out of high school and then I briefly attended IWU and studied design and alternative process photography there… which I absolutely loved (it being one of the only schools left with fully functioning dark rooms at the time). I worked part-time as an interiors and architectural photographer, traveling regularly and the rest of my professional energy building portrait and video freelancing with a local creative community.

I took a position with a faith-based non-profit as their creative director for 3 years. Then, with the help of a mentor and my dad, simultaneously launched Reformer House (a co-working creative agency) and started work as VP of Productions at Sextons Creek Productions. We grew the productions division over the period of 4 years and then I moved over to Reformer House full-time in 2020. In 2024, I joined the team at Marion Design Co.

I am obsessed with storytelling, still infatuated with film and alternative process photography, and I'm a typography-nerd. Please reach out if you have any questions or could use any more specific examples of work, and thanks for your consideration.
